MODELS
TPACK MODEL
TPACK model is a framework that helps teachers how can they
effectively teach and engage students with technology. It is an approach that
looks at the combination of three domains. First one is Content Knowledge, in
short, what teachers know. The second one is Pedagogical Knowledge, how they
teach and the third one is Technological Knowledge, how technology is used. Let’s
start with the CK. CK is all of the core curricular areas, it is made up of all
the facts, concepts and theories. The second one is PK. PK is made up of teaching
methods, assesments which is followed by profect-based tasks, and instrumental
strategies. The last domain is TK. TK represents the knowledge about the tools
including how to use them. Actually all of these domains related to each other
and the combined in one intersection which is TPACK.
SAMR MODEL
Substitution;
At this stage, technology is directly substituted for a more
traditional one. For example, if you are teaching a government lesson on the
Constitution, you might use.
Augmentation;
The technology is again directly substituted for a
traditional one, but with significant enhancements to the student experience.
Modification;
In this stage, you are beginning to move from enhancement to
transformation on the model.
Redefinition;
The last stage of the SAMR model is Redefinition and
represents the pinnacle of how technology can transform a student's experience.
